It’s been revealed that Matt Littler, who has played the lovable Max Cunningham for over ten years in Hollyoaks, has quit the Channel 4 soap.
He will be making a dramatic exit with another Hollyoaks favourite, Darren Jon Jefferies, who played O.B., and has been brought back as his best friend to film the final scenes surrounding his wedding to Steph Dean (Carley Stenson), to be shown in July.
The soap bosses are keeping tight-lipped over the real reasons for his exit. However, Matt said “I feel that I have grown up on Hollyoaks over the past eleven years and I’m not only leaving behind friends but also family. I wouldn’t change a second of my time at Hollyoaks and working with Darren Jon Jefferies has been amazing - every second of it! I’d just like to thank everyone who has made my life at Hollyoaks a very happy one.”
Littler will film his final scenes next week and they will be shown on Friday, 27 June on Channel 4.
