Chris Bisson is soon to be on our screens as Jai Sharma in the popular ITV soap drama Emmerdale, when his family arrive in the Dales to open a new confectionery factory.

Bisson is probably best known for his role as the Coronation Street cab driver Vikram Desai (Vik), and also for the parts of Saleem Kahn in ‘East is East’ and Kash Karib in ‘Shameless’.

The 34-year-old, is also to make a guest appearance on the BBC daytime medical drama ‘Doctors’, where he will play the part of a jewellery wholesaler who has a race against time to save his wife and child.

The episode has been named ‘Mr Jelly’ and is to be shown on Friday 2nd October at 1.45pm on BBC One.

Vernon Tomlin

Ian Reddington, who played the part of Vernon Tomlin in Coronation Street from 2005-2008, is to make a guest appearance in the BBC soap ‘Doctors’.

Vernon was the on/off boyfriend of Liz McDonald played by Bev Callard, whom he eventually married on New Years Eve 2007, after being beaten up by Liz’s former husband Jim.  The couple ended their marriage in June 2008 and Vernon was seen leaving Weatherfield in September 2008.

The 50-year-old actor is now set to appear in one episode of the popular medical drama playing the part of Tim Clayden.  The episode called ‘Nobody’, is to be on screen on Friday 2nd October at 1.45pm.

Yolande Trueman

Former Eastenders actress Angela Wynter, played the part of Yolande Trueman until she was written out of the soap in October 2008.

The 55-year-old, is to make a guest appearance as Doreen Webster in the popular BBC show ‘Doctors’, where she will take on the role of a hamburger stall owner.

The episode is to be shown on Friday August 7th on BBC 1 at 1.45pm where her character is angered by her ex-husband’s actions.

Doctors

Adam Thomas, brother of Coronation Street’s Ryan, who plays the part of Jason Grimshaw, has landed a role in the BBC drama ‘Doctors’.

The 21-year-old will make a guest appearance as Ben Hamilton, a bad boy who has been institutionalised for most of his life after murdering a class mate.

The episode, to be called ‘Hamilton is Out’ will appear on our screens on Monday 26th May on BBC One.  This is to be the actor’s third time in the soap, after appearing in an episode called ‘Losing Control’ and another called ‘Growing Pains’.

Adam has currently been starring in the BBC drama ‘Waterloo Road’, where he plays the part of Donte Charles.

This is the second sibling of a Coronation actor to be cast for a role in the medical drama in the past couple of weeks after it was recently revealed that the sister of Kat Kelly, Grace, is also appearing in the programme.

Doctors

Grace Kelly, sister of Kat Kelly who plays the part of Becky Granger in Coronation Street, is to make a guest appearance in an episode of the popular soap ‘Doctors’.

The 19-year-old actress has landed the role of student nurse Sarah Copland, who after already been faced with a drink problem at an early age goes on to become anorexic.

Ms. Kelly has just completed her two days of filming in Birmingham for the episode called ‘Out of Control’ which is due to air on Monday 18th May on BBC 1.

The award ceremony will be hosted by Philip Schofield, 46, and Fern Britton, 50, and the categories range from Best Actor to Villain Of The Year, and the Best Storyline to Spectacular Scene Of The Year.

Philip told the Sun “It’s the best party in town!  Because the soap teams work so hard and it seems that they work harder every year, this is the one night they can truly let their hair down.  They party like no other people I have ever come across.  After the awards, I briefly go into the party, do a circuit and get out before it gets messy!
