Amanda Donohoe

Amanda Donohoe who plays the part of Natasha Wylde in the ITV soap opera ‘Emmerdale’ is leaving the show after almost two years.

The 48-year-old actress initially only joined the soap under a year’s contract but has put down her extended term to the fantastic cast, crew and producers.

The actress will film her final episodes later this year as a climax to her current storyline surrounding the murder of her late husband whom she killed and buried in the woods.

It was announced earlier in the year that her on screen daughter Alice Coulthard who plays the part of Maisie will also be leaving the show this year.

Emmerdale

The 17-year-old son of Shane Richie and Coleen Nolan, has landed a role as a college student in the popular ITV soap opera Emmerdale.

Jake Roche is to become a potential boyfriend of Hannah Barton played by Grace Cassidy in the programme as he follows in the footsteps of his dad who played the part of Alfie Moon in the BBC’s Eastenders.

Jake’s character Isaac will appear on our screens from August and will be part of the show for at least the next few months.

Jake along with his brother Shane are also trying to make their name on the music scene after supporting their mother and aunts on their recent concert tour with their cover versions of popular pop songs.

Sheree Murphy

Former Emmerdale actress and current Hollyoaks star Sheree Murphy was involved in a car accident in Manchester yesterday.

The actress who is married to footballer Harry Kewell, suffered whiplash in the incident and was said to have been very shaken up and frightened after the accident.

Murphy’s husband rushed to be at her side while her £180,000 Bentley was at the roadside waiting for a breakdown truck to arrive.

The 34-year-old is currently playing the part of Eva, the long lost mother of Anita Roy after formerly playing the role of Trisha Dingle in Emmerdale.

Charley Webb

Actress Charley Webb who plays the part of Debbie Dingle in the ITV soap Emmerdale and her partner Matthew Wolfenden, who plays David Metcalfe in the same show, have become parents for the first time.

Charley gave birth to a son on Saturday, and he has been named Buster Lawrence Wolfenden, and both are said to be absolutely besotted with him.

The actress is currently on maternity leave from her acting role but is expected to return later in the year.

Sport Relief 2010

Soap stars will be taking part in a charity football match tomorrow hosted by former Auf Wiedersehen actor Tim Healey.

The event begins at 11am at Manchester’s Regional Athletics Arena to raise money in aid of Sport Relief.  The match will have the former football players Richard Edghill, John Barnes and Dean Windass acting as managers with the teams made of from various soap operas.

Coronations Street stars Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell), Kirk Sutherland (Andy Whyment), Jason Grimshaw ( Ryan Thomas) and Grame Proctor (Craig Gazey), will be joined by Emmerdale actors Sam Dingle (James Hooton), Andy Sugden (Kelvin Fletcher), Adam Barton ( Adam Thomas), Aaron Livesy (Danny Miller) and Nathan Wylde (Lyndon Ogbourne).

Also stars from the comedy show ‘Ideal’ will be on the pitch, consisting of Johnny Vegas, Ryan Pope and Michael Kofi.

Waterloo Road actors Chris Mead (William Ash), Paul Langley (Tom Milner), Philip Ryan  (Dean Smith), Josh Stevenson (William Rush), Finn Sharkey (Jack McMullen), Ronan Burley (Ben Ryan Davies) and Jonah Kirby ( Lucien Laviscount) have also confirmed their places at the event.

Emmerdale

The actor George Costigan is joining the cast of the ITV soap Emmerdale playing the role of Charlie Haynes, an old mate of Rodney Blackstock, the character played by Patrick Mower.

The charater will make his appearance in the Dales in March and is expected to catch the eye of the ladies in the village before falling in love with Diane.

Costigan is best known for his starring role in the 1987 movie Rita, Sue and Bob Too, where he played the part of the ladies man Bob.

Tina McIntyre - Coronation Street

Some of the members of the Coronation Street cast are to take part in ‘Celebrity Rockaoke’ to raise money for injured British troops.

Michelle Keegan, who plays the part of Tina McIntyre in the ITV soap will be heading the event alongside Helen Flanagan (Rosie Webster) and Brooke Vincent (Sophie Webster), which is to take place at Manchester’s Moho Live venue.

The money is to go towards the BLESMA (British Limbless Ex Serviceman Association) and Macmillan Cancer Support and the event takes place on Tuesday December 8th at 8pm.

Other cast members expected to take to the stage are;  Shobna Gulati (Sunita Alahan), Sasha Parkinson (Sian Powers), Nikki Patel (Amber Alahan) and Graeme Hawley (John Stape).  Jeff Hordley, who plays Cain Dingle in Emmerdale, and Hollyoaks boys Andrew Moss (Rhys Ashworth) and Gerard McCarthy (Kris Fisher) along with Helen Pearson (Frankie Osborne) are also said to be attending.

Mark Wylde

Maxwell Caulfield who plays the part of bigamist Mark Wylde in Emmerdale is leaving the cast in the new year after his characters past catches up with him.

The 49-year-old actor decided not to renew his 12-month contract with the popular ITV soap opera and will finish filming his scenes next month although he will still appear on our screens until the middle of January.

Mark Wylde appeared on the programme in January of this year as he rode through the village on horseback accompanied by his wife Natasha, played by Amanda Donohoe.  The self-made millionaires had purchased St. Mary’s Church but suggested it was to keep it in the community making them instantly popular with the villagers.

Faye Lamb, the first wife of the womaniser arrives in Emmerdale seeking a photo for the of Mark for a magazine profile of the family but the charmer soon works his magic and sets her up in an expensive flat nearby.  It then comes to light, that they are still married making him a bigamist and that his real name is in fact Daniel Lamb and the gossip begins as his past is eventually revealed.

The producers now have scope for a fantastic storyline, keeping the audience on the edge of their seats.  Will Mark once again disappear and create another new life for himself or will he will he leave the village with his first wife?

Eastenders

Eastenders was voted the ‘Best Soap’ last night at the Inside Soap Awards ceremony held at Sketch Nightclub in London’s West End.

Lacy Turner who plays the part of Stacey Slater in the BBC drama, was given the award for ‘Best Actress’ for the fourth time in a row, while Charlie Brooks who plays Janine Butcher was voted ‘Best Bitch’.

Larry Lamb’s character Archie Mitchell, was voted ‘Best Bad Boy’ and along with Charlie Brooks the couple also scooped the prize for ‘Best Storyline’.

Kara Tointon, who left the show earlier this year was voted ‘Best Dressed Female’ for her character Dawn Swann and John Partridge, who plays the part of Christian Clarke was awarded ‘Sexiest Male’.

The cast of Coronation Street also one a selection of awards with Gray O’Brien voted ‘Best Actor’ for his portrayal of Tony Gordon while  Michelle Keegan who plays Tina McIntyre was voted ‘Sexiest Female’.

The ‘Best Newcomer’ award went to Coronation Street butcher Graeme Proctor, played by Craig Gazey and Maggie Jones received the award for ‘Funniest Performance’ for her character Blanche Hunt.  Coronation street also received an award for Alex Bain for his character of the young Simon Barlow.

Hollyoaks only picked up one award last night for ‘Best Family’ going to the McQueens, while The Bill was awarded the prize for ‘Best Drama’ for the fourth consecutive year and Emmerdale left empty-handed.

Roxanne Pallett

The former Emmerdale actress Roxanne Pallett, who played the part of Jo Sugden from 2005-2008, is now a fully fledged Pringles girl.

The 26-year-old, will be travelling around the country advertising the popular snack along with a host of beautiful girls and said;

“It’s amazing for me, I couldn’t do any endorsements while I was on Emmerdale.

I’m a down to earth northern girl, I really wanted to do something different to the usual lingerie deals that other girls get. They chose me because they thought I was feisty.”

The actress added;

“I’m going on a UK tour for them in the next few weeks with our own Pringles Extreme team of girls – kind of like a gang of really tough Pussycat Dolls. There’s a world champion arm wrestler and a girl with the ‘keepy uppy’ record.”
