Charity Dingle & Sadie King

After four-years away from the Dales, Charity Dingle played by Emma Atkins, is to make a dramatic return in an explosive storyline.

The 33-year-old actress, played the role of Charity from 2000-2005, when she was seen fleeing the village with her baby son Noah after having a fling with Jimmy King.

Ms. Dingle, was first seen on our screens when she attended the funeral of her cousin Butch Dingle while on the run from police who had a warrant out for her arrest on charges of prostitution.

She  went onto marry Chris Tate after having a lesbian affair with his sister Zoe.  When Zoe developed schizophrenia, Charity stood by her and on discovery that Zoe was pregnant, Charity advised her on adoption, confessing that she had a daughter adopted years earlier.

It emerged that her daughter Debbie was born when Charity was only 14-years-old and had been fathered by her cousin Cain.  The child had been adopted but her adopted mother died and Paddy and Emily Kirk became foster parents until Charity finally found some maternal feelings.

Chris Tate finally committed suicide after he was diagnose with a brain tumour but Charity was charged with his murder and sentenced to life imprisonment.

In October 2003, Charity discovered she was pregnant and the baby turned out to be Chris’s child.  The baby was born by emergency cesarean and Zoe gave Charity the choice of freedom and money if she gave her custody of Noah.  Zoe agreed to provide evidence that Chris had committed suicide.

Once released, Charity set her sights on rich man Tom King, but their wedding day was called off when Sadie King through a spanner in the works, seeing Charity flee the village with her son.

With Cain Dingle, played by Jeff Hordley, also making a return this year it is set to be a very exciting year for the soap opera.
