A Bollywood actress is to become a new barmaid at the Rover’s Return in Coronation Street, and will make her first appearance on our screens in November.

Sophiya Haque, will play a character called ‘Poppy’, who is chosen by Liz McDonald, played by Bev Callard, to be her new assistant manager.

She will join another new member of the cast, Poppy Jhakra, who is the kebab shop worker called Minnie, a friend of Amber’s played by Nikki Patel.
