Beverley Collard, who plays Liz McDonald in Coronation Street, has allegedly had her wages cut by 40% as the hard times hit.
The actress has apparently signed a new contract where she will only be paid per episode, meaning that the more she is in the soap the more wages she will take home.
Ms. Callard has been in the news lately as she battles to keep her pub running after debts mount up. She runs a pub in Manchester and another in Hale, but has already had to sell her home and her first pub to finance her businesses.
