John Bardon, who plays the character Jim Branning in Eastenders, was reported to have been rushed to hospital again last week.
Bardon had a stroke in July 2007 and has spent a year recuperating. He appeared this week in a one-off episode which boosted the ratings of the popular BBC soap.
He was admitted last Friday, to the Lister Hospital in West London, after it was thought he had suffered another stroke. It was later said that the actor was in a “comfortable” condition.
John has been playing the Eastenders character since 1996 and he married the lovely Dot Cotton on Valentine’s day 2002.
Jim’s storyline in the programme also covers the actor’s illness, where he has been admitted to a nursing home but is hoping to return to Dot once he is well enough.
