Eastenders star Samantha Janus, the 35-year-old who plays Ronnie Mitchell, apparently tripped when rushing to work and has broken her shoulder.

Ronnie has a big storyline at the moment and so her scenes have had to be cancelled while she is recuperating at home and it is still unclear how much time she will need off work.

Meanwhile, her fellow actress Emma Barton who plays the not-so-bright Honey Mitchell, was told that she will not be remaining in the soap.  Emma was said to have been shocked by the news and is planning instead to return to musical theatre.  Billy Mithell, the husband of Honey’s, is remaining in the soap.  An inside source said “Emma’s a lovely actress, but we’ve just come to the end of the storyline.”
