Award winning actor Edward Woodward, 78, is to play the part of Tommy Clifford in the popular BBC soap Eastenders.
His character appears in Albert Square in search of Patrick Trueman but the seemingly charming man hides a dark side which will be seen when he appears in the programme in March.
Woodward, is not only one of the most admired actor’s but also a singer and a poet. Probably best known for his role in the American television series ‘The Equalizer’ in the 1980’s, which came to an early end when he suffered a massive heart attack.
He underwent triple bypass surgery in 1996, after his second coronary and in 2003 was diagnosed with prostate cancer.
