Jeff Hordley who plays the part of the gorgeous Cain Dingle in Emmerdale, has confessed that he suffers from Crohn’s disease.
The 39-year-old actor, was diagnosed with the illness just before his 26th birthday after suffering with problems from the age of 20. He recognised the symptoms immediately which included diarrhoea, stomach cramps, weight loss and severe tiredness, but by the time he was diagnosed the disease was already advanced.
Jeff needed to have part on his small and large bowel removed before rejoining the healthy parts back together. If the disease had been caught earlier then steroids may have stopped the progression.
The actor confessed to suffering with occasional relapses which require him to detox, but keeping fit seems to have a positive effect on the disease and keeps it under control.
