It’s the wedding of the year in Emmerdale, when Eric Pollard (Chris Chittel) marries Val Lambert (Charlie Hardwick).
Eric wants to marry Val in style but as usual he is short of cash, so he decides to kill two birds with one stone and arrange the surprise wedding around the event of the Village Pub Of The Year contest.
Everyone keeps the secret from Val until the morning of the wedding when Lisa Dingle (Jane Cox) accidentally knocks Val over and she is unconscious.
In the meantime Eli spots a way of making some money and holds Val hostage until the Dingles intervene and explain to him whats going on. Val is fuming after hearing what Eric is planning and joins the Dingles in the scam to get back at Eric.
The wedding special will be on screen on June 3 in an hour long special to celebrate the 5000th edition.
