Even the British soap opera’s are suffering with the economic crisis as two other popular show are axed from ITV.
According to reports, the 1960’s police drama ‘Heartbeat’ and ‘The Royal’ are both going to finish with staff being told that at the moment there is no recommission.
Heartbeat began way back in 1992 and is currently in it’s eighteenth series, but after viewing rates dropped to almost half of the amount the programme received at it’s peak it seems that it is time for it to go.
The British medical drama ‘The Royal’ is a spin-off show from ‘Heartbeat’, again set in the 1960’s, began in 2003.
