The Coronation Street actress Kym Ryder,  and husband Jack are separating it was reported yesterday.

A statement was issued today from Coronation Street Broadcaster ITV said “With great sadness, Kym and Jack Ryder have decided to separate after seven years together.  Their separation is amicable and they remain friends, with Jack continuing to see Kym’s children, David and Emily.  There is no one else involved in the break up of their marriage.  Neither Jack nor Kym will be commenting further to the press, and in consideration of the children’s emotional welfare they are requesting the media respect their privacy on this occasion.”

Jack, 26 years old, played Jamie Mitchell in Eastenders before the couple married in 2002.  A year later the couple split-up but only for a short time before they reconciled.

Kym became famous after the ITV Popstars programme in 2001 and was seen joining four other people to start a band called ‘Hear’say’.  She then joined Coronation Street in 2006 as the barmaid and a singer.
