Who remembers Rustie Lee?, well she is set to make an appearance on our screens as the aunt of Gus Smith in Eastenders.
Rustie, 54-years-old, was in a minor car crash five years ago. She started suffering from problems with her shoulders and was sent for an MRI scan which revealed that her spine was hanging on by a thread. Rustie had emergency surgery the next day. They operated through the front of her neck and replaced some of the bone with a part taken from her hip. Later she had to have a complete hip replacement and shoulder operations.
Ms. Lee has just release a new book called ‘A Taste Of The Caribbean With Rustie Lee, which is her second in 20 years and has also just played a part in a film called ‘Mad Cows’.
Rustie will be Gus’s aunt Opal who gets the wrong end of the stick about the relationship between Gus (Mohammed George) and Keisha (Suzie McGrath). Gus is horrified that she thinks they are a couple but Keisha humors her by telling her they haven’t gone official yet.
Rustie will make her first appearance in Eastenders next week.
