Danniella Westbrook
This week sees the return of Danniella Westbrook to our screens as she resumes her role of Sam Mitchell in the BBC soap drama Eastenders.
Danniella originally played the character as a 15-year-old schoolgirl in 1990 until she quit in 1993. She then reintroduced in 1995-1996, and then again 1999-2000.
The actress was written out of the programme after controversies surrounding her cocaine addiction and the character was played by Kim Medcalf from 2002-2005.
Sam was seen fleeing the square in 2005 after being wrongly imprisoned for the murder of Den Watts. As soon as she was cleared of the killing and released, she headed for Brazil to avoid being sentenced to perverting the course of justice.
