The former Eastenders star Wendy Richards, who played Pauline Fowler in the soap has been seen riding a mobility scooter in a red one-piece swimsuit, fortunately, it is for her new role in an ITV comedy ‘Benidorm’.
The 64-year-old actress has landed her first acting role since leaving Eastenders last year after her character, collapsed and died on Christmas Day 2006.
In the new comedy, Wendy plays a glamorous, interfering mother called Sylvia who ends up in a fight with Sheila Reid who plays Madge, after being accused of having eyes for her man, Mel, played by Geoffrey Hutchings.
Wendy’s character seems to have the completely opposite style to that of her Eastender’s one, as she is seen in a very low-cut red swimsuit, platform shoes and a leopard print hat.
After setting here sights on Mel, Sylvia and Madge end up in a face to face scooter battle and Sylvia has sun lotion thrown over her before being shoved in the pool.
Wendy admitted to having a few problems with the scooter at first and said “It was hysterical trying to get the hang of using the mobility chairs – I don’t drive anyway, so I found it extra hard to control. If I wasn’t zooming into a broom cupboard by mistake, I was knocking over potted palms.”
