Top US actor Will Smith has revealed that he is a fan of the UK soap Eastenders and says he would love a cameo role in the series at some point in his career after becoming addicted watching an omnibus edition on a trip to England to promote his film Seven Pounds.

He said, “I didn’t even know what it was, but I literally could not stop watching it. Before I knew it, all I had done was get room service and waste a whole afternoon watching this show. American soaps are all about beautiful people and being cheesy. This soap had it all!”

Smith who started his career starring in the US sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel Air said he would love to make a big entrance in the Queen Vic at some time in the future when his current schedule allows.

He also begged the BBC to start showing the soap again on BBC America.
